There is a space up against my house where the corn used to be. I almost can’t take it.
Also today I picked the last of the tomatoes. And a single, solitary tear dripped from my chin into the raised beds. {HEEEY maybe I’m onto something here…think there’s any nitrogen in tears?}
The composter is jammed full of all sorts of yard goodies. {Tomato plants being only one of the items added to it today.} I added everything from the yard cleanup to the composter, with the exception of the weeds. I haven’t had enough time to research composting weeds, but something just feels weird about it. Kind of like trusting a 4 year old to wash their own hands.
Back to the weeds…I picked one TALLER THAN ME out of the new hydrangea bed. {The hydrangeas were moved to the side of the house to make way for the raised beds.} And, well, I don’t get over there too often. I could hear them bemoaning their fate. You used to love us.
I took that weed and javelin-ed it down into the gulley behind the house. Seriously.
It was awesome.
The zinnias keep on blooming. I’ve easily picked over 500. And the okra and tavera filet beans are taking after the zinnias–the more I cut the more pop up!
Hope your Labor Day was fabulous!
