I’m so sorry your Christmas gift was not as cool as mine:
There’s always next year.
Ah, it was a good one. We listened to way too much Adele, ate way too many Trader Joe’s caramels, played some very committed games of Connect Four, and tanned on our back patio in the mid-70’s weather. Only one of those things is false, but would have been true had the sky been a little less cloudy.
For potentially the first time in my adult life I have so successfully detached from real life during a holiday that my house is completely trashed. I am also to the point where I want to say about that fact Yeah who cares? How did you beat level 20 in Candy Crush?
We worked a puzzle with the various family and friends who have been in and out of our house over the last 4 days and it was all sorts of geriatric fun. David also came up with our grandparent names…nevermind that our children are only 5 and 2…we have them, they are ready, and we use them when appropriate. {Which has been an awful lot in the last few days considering our activities have consisted of searching for the next creepy puzzle theme on Amazon. Have you ever Amazon searched puzzles? I’m guessing the puzzle crowd is not to be confused with the “in crowd.” Unless of course they are to be confused with the “trendy urban hipster-crowd,” which is highly possible considering how much hipsters confuse me.}
{Also, last night’s friends helped us dream up a new spinoff of Hoarders where we are those people who can’t walk around their house because every possible surface is covered by completed 1000 piece puzzles. Please don’t sit there you’ll mess up the 500 piece rabbits and hamsters cuddling. It’s a limited edition.}
Needless to say, re-entry into real life might be a bit bumpy this week.
HEY HERE’S WHO WON THE GIVEAWAY FROM MANTIS:
I asked Siri who I should pick and she was most helpful. This almost makes up for that time she got me way lost in downtown.
Congratulations to Lucy! I will be emailing you for your address to pass along to Mantis.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m looking for a spade-shaped piece to complete the ear of a brown kitty wearing a Santa hat…
