I need to report mutiny onboard ship.
Bitty E tells me this is a cake. I tell her repeatedly that camellia blooms look best on the bush. Then I tell myself that thing people say about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
My camellias are the last hold out around these parts. A reminder that it’s really over now and it’s time to settle in with a warm cider and a Hallmark movie a good read and do some planning for spring.
The peas are zippity-do-da-done. I think the most recent cold snap snapped the last breath of life right out of them. I will till them in soon, along with the last of the lettuces. We had a farewell lunch for the lettuces. They stayed small {probably because I kept cutting them down to eat as soon as they popped their little heads up}, so we just called them our microgreens all season. Oh, they still ate just fine in spite of their tszuj-ed up name.
Speaking of books, I’m currently sucked into my book club read, Cutting for Stone, by Abraham Verghese. I’m only through part one, but two thumbs up so far. It feels like a good pick approaching deep winter what with the scenes of people in warm climates and plenty of intrigue. Have any book suggestions as winter closes in? Oh do share if you do!
