Rock fairies.
They came while I was away at the conference and my magical path appeared.
David is most pleased. Well, notwithstanding the part that’s on the most severe incline, which he fears will eventually experience serious erosion…except for that one part he’s pleased. So I’ve just got to figure some kind of retaining situation for that corner.
But so far I’m digging it.
A talkative hardware store guy that I called for a quote gave me a handy tip and said to make sure I ask for twice-crushed pea gravel. Turns out not all gravel is the same. {Who knew.}
So this stuff is double crunched and covered in a fine sand, that I can only presume will fall into the crevices and cracks as it rains and gets walked on, hopefully compounding the path down over time.
{Can you imagine if I had ordered the wrong stuff? There’s an awkward conversation. Um, guys, great job on the loading and unloading of 50 wheelbarrows full of dead weight from my driveway into my backyard, but I seem to have made a tactical error…}
The yard takes an awful lot of imagination in the middle of winter, but seeing this rock down gives me a little bit better peek into what’s to come.
