It’s pumpkin planting day!
I got out there super early as the forecast read hot and moody. The Baker Creek seed pack said pumpkins like a nice layer of compost, so I took the opportunity to empty my composter onto the beds. Now those babies will be growing right beneath every half eaten bitty E apple and bitty G banana peel from the last 4 months.
I think one of my favorite things about this garden is that it fights perfectionism in all its forms. And guess who has two thumbs and needs a good dose of that: this girl.
Sometimes the squash have a great season. Sometimes they don’t.
Sometimes the zucchini look awesome. Sometimes they don’t.
Sometimes the rabbits start in on the parsley…
{I really thought I read somewhere that they don’t eat parsley…THEY LIED.}
Nothing tells God I don’t need him quite like my slant toward perfectionism. And nothing reminds me that he makes the world go round quite like this garden. {Oh, and parenting. That too.}
